I don't mind argentina as the women there are beautiful, the economy is strong and fuck, the women are beautiful lol
Re: Feasibility and Issues of Buying a Town
The women in Argentina have mustaches.
Just sayin'.
Also, it's my understanding that the beaches are straight up deadly out there.

Re: Feasibility and Issues of Buying a Town
I am going to have to agree with you there, then.
Still. Beaches are pretty .... I'm sorry I lost my train of thought.

God dude, I would totally move down there to find me a woman like that!
Re: Feasibility and Issues of Buying a Town
I've gone from associating you with Pee Wee to associating you with ...
You should just upload a picture of Sitting Bull.
I'd say Crazy Horse, but the only pictures of Crazy Horse are hand-drawn and look like they gave nine yearolds crayons and asked them to draw what they think he looked like.

I would be down for buying an island as well. If we went that route I would build the power stations and the irrigation out of my own pocket with out cost from these funds. So those are no longer cons.

By Casino, I hope you mean "some random guy with basic knowledge of black jack and texas hold 'em dealing to a couple of drunks who aren't really sure where they are"
It could work that way.
It could work that way.

Re: Feasibility and Issues of Buying a Town
It makes much more sense to me if anons would simply buy up properties in some town and then work together to make the town the best thing it could be. It's safer that way too, If i was anon I would simply save up my cash and in a few years buy a place in a agreed upon town in california along with some friends. This should be done completely legally and then we could all work together to create great publicly funded works, like concert venues, community colleges, etc. Another great way to gain publicity for anontown is to get a professional level stage in there for a music festival, alot of good, less popular bands might actually love to help this project out and get themselves some publicity aswell.

Re: Feasibility and Issues of Buying a Town
Resident Lawfag here.
I haven't done much research, but it seems as if South Dakota has pretty standard provisions concerning gambling laws. In that one can operate games of chance only for a charity which has been given authorization by the state.
Here are those organizations that qualify: charitable, educational, religious or fraternal organizations, civic and service clubs, volunteer fire departments, or such other public spirited organizations as it may recognize, to conduct games of chance when the entire net proceeds of such games of chance are to be devoted to educational, charitable, patriotic, religious, or other public spirited uses.
Again, just from a surface reading there are two issues here: characterization and approval.
We COULD characterize ourselves as a "public spirited organization." That isn't really a problem. The problem would be getting approval. This would never happen as this project would get a LOT of attention, attention that the State of South Dakota would want no part of.
However, I encountered a weird little law that allows "limited card games and slot machines" in the city of Deadwood. So obviously they got some kind of special dispensation for it, so theoretically so could we. However I'm going to assume that the only reason they have it it so they can simulate old-timey-saloon poker in the Deadwood Historic District.
tl;dr: Legalized gambling isn't really plausible.

Re: Feasibility and Issues of Buying a Town
I see a small problem with all this.
Agriculture. We need to develop a proper agricultural base to feed everyone.
I am going to be taking some food technology courses (mainly to make a microbrewery, producing 200ml of lager an hour) as a part of my engineering degree and to be honest, we need to think about how on earth we will feed everyone. I would suggest buying landing which has agriculutural capacity. We grow hemp, and hide cannabis in the middle of the fields of hemp, grow grains and such for booze and foods, meat is a possibility but the cost of animal farming means we would need to compete with industrial scale farming from the US and such.
To give it some thought, we could probably set up industrially in many places around the world, but the reason many of these projects fail is a lack of proper planning, with definitive leadership commanding people to do what needs to be done. As well as the fact that I really doubt most of the people here could really work hard on land for months on end, or want to work all day or something.
Also, if we are going to be a democracy, I am out, democracy fails hard. We need a benevolent dictator who works on merit, not nepotism.
