We don't need a police department. It won't get that big, and it's still in the domain of some county sheriff or other.

No need for a police department. Everyone will be armed in the town (you'd be silly not to be) so law and order will be maintained through the constant display of force by CIVILIANS. Anyone from out of town looking to cause trouble will be scared shitless when they realize 99% of the town is open carrying during their day to day business.

Plus, if we had a police department we'd need to pay for the police- which means revenue raising. Everyone in the town should be focused on producing more capital to grow, not being a parasite by having a redundant job that could be fulfilled by other townsfolk.

If the need arises, we'll form a militia.

Guns wouldn't be an issue, ammunition would. I would guess that 1 cop per 10-20 people would be fine. That doesn't mean they are all on duty, but just ready. Basically as minute men. Until we know the kind of people that will be living there we can't know for sure though.

Trying not to speak for EVERYONE but most of /k/ isn't like "AW YEA FUCK THE SYSTEM".

We just don't like the strict restrictions governments and police enforce. We would rather run it our way, strict only when necessarily needed.
