I like where this is going, self-sustaining towns/cities are huge at the moment.

And I think the young age thing will work in our favor IF we can compile a half way decent proposal. As for my contribootion, I study mostly engineering subjects atm and I'm from Africa so I can see clear as day how this kind of project could benefit everyone and would be willing to help in the proposal draft when it comes to that.
Also, self-sustaining needn't mean completely isolated, we can still trade for things like clothes, the point is to make a town that can provide food and energy for itself without outside help or a major carbon footprint.

There are many ways to represent ourselves if we require funding
the basic and more obvious ones are the observed successes of the creation of sustainable environments which create employment/residential areas via the internet added onto that the following behavioral studies that can be made given that the majority of residents in the early stages of development are most likely to be single males aged between 20-40 mostly white.
Studies that can be conducted on such a community that isnt pluralistic or generally diverse must be interesting enough to catch the eye of someone.
